I've been sick for the last 3 weeks or so. Not SICK, but definitely not well. It seemed like just a really bad cold, but then it lingered, and got worse. Since we don't have medical insurance, I won't ever know whether or not I actually had flu, but based on symptoms experienced by others who did have confirmed flu, I suspect that I did indeed have it. Fortunately I have a priesthood holder in my home, and after a blessing promising me dramatic improvement in the next 36 hours, I feel a bit more like myself. Now I can concentrate on the kid's coughs, sniffles, sore throats and double ear infections etc., and figuring out my holiday plans. Anybody have any suggestions on where I could possibly squeeze in a Christmas tree at my house? We discussed getting rid of the dining room table, and just buying a new one after Christmas, but then it occurred to us that if we had the money to do that we might as well just buy a new house, since this one really is too small for us now. Anyway, we welcome all suggestions. Please comment.

Festivities
Just a few pix from Halloween :) No, the picture isn't upside down, James just likes being held upside down.
James was Tigger for Halloween, and probably will be again next year. I think Jack was bigger at his age, cuz it fit Jack fine his first Halloween.
Tom Kelley, legitimate businessman. Read PIMP, DRUG DEALER, etc.
Calvin was a secret service agent for the President. Funny how he always manages to pick a costume that involves wearing his suit. I don't know what we'll do when he outgrows it.
Nana was a cat again this year. I told her that next year she would have too many people checking her out to wear it again.
Fireman Jack, last year, this year, and next year! I love costumes that grow with your kid. He had a real fireman come and talk to his kindergarten class a few weeks ago, so he was totally hip to the groove.
Glad to see someone finally used the toucan costume again. I've had it for like 4 years, but it's only been worn once. This year Nana wore it to school, and Rayzel wore it or trick or treating. Good thing, cuz it won't fit anyone next year!
James was fascinated by the whole pumpkin carving process. He really wanted to help, but didn't like the way the pumpkin felt on his hands.
Jonathan didn't either. Who does really? We spent Halloween with Toms family, and much fun was had by all. Lots of yummy food, and scary movies to watch. Baby was a little sick still, and passed out half an hour into trick or treating. Sad Tom, he didn't get much candy after that. It was a good year for Reece's and Milky Ways, my faves. Happy Halloween everyone!

Pet Peeve
It's OK for you to think your husband is sexy.
It's also OK for him to know that you think he's sexy.
PDA is a nice way of showing your husband that you are not embarrassed about people knowing your attracted to him.
It makes him feel good about himself when he knows that you are attracted to him.
So why is it that when you don't shelter the world from the knowledge that you are, in fact, IN LOVE with your husband, you get critical stares and comments??

Vocabulary Words
Jonathan's kindergarten teacher is teaching them big words. We got a flier in his binder reminding us to help our kids practice what the words mean. On this flier were the words and their definitions. So I ask Jonathan "What does stumble mean?" He says "It means that you stumble over your toys." I ask "What does pursue mean?" He says "It means that you go after something." I ask "What does absurd mean?". He says "It means that a bunny goes surfing all the time."

Mommy Blues
Do you ever feel like all you do is clean up other peoples messes? Do you find yourself cleaning the same thing multiple times a day? Is it something that absolutely has to be cleaned multiple times a day? If so, you have mommy blues. Forget the dirty diapers, bathtime, laundry, runny noses, toys, and cooking cleanup. Today I'm talking about wiping off the highchair. You've all had to do this, and let me tell you, I feel your pain. Three meals a day, 2 snacks, and the healthier the food is, the more mess it makes on the tray. Lets assume you are lucky enough to have a 2 tray highchair, and that one of the trays is even dishwasher safe. You would think that it would be helpful, right? Wrong. It's one more thing to wash, and take up counter space, because you use it too frequently for it to even get into the dishwasher. Plus in order to use it you have to wipe off the bottom tray which negates the purpose in having two trays. You try to make yourself feel better by telling yourself that in a few short years your child can sit at the table with the older kids and you won't have to do this anymore. But deep down you know you are kidding yourself, because even your 12 year old still can't eat a meal without making a mess on the table, bench and floor. Ultimately you are doomed. So go ahead and take a minute to feel sorry for yourself. Then suck it up, because the baby is hungry again and the highchair needs to be cleaned off.
